The Lonely Daffodil

Picture Book /ˈpik(t)SHər ˌbo͝ok/ n. 1. a book containing many illustrations, especially one for children.

When a farmer is planting daffodils at the top of a hill, one of the bulbs falls out of the basket, rolls down the hill, and lands in a hole at the forest’s edge. While there, the daffodil befriends many woodland creatures, but he feels lonely each night when the other daffodils sing together at the top of the hill. The daffodil longs to join in their songs, but when they refuse to allow him, he must find a different way to use his voice.
